Why such a weird date for the potential layoff? A Wednesday? Anyone know the rationale behind this?

Layoffs are typically done on wednesdays. They thru in a thursday just for fun. there's no reasoning behind it. they just want to bulk up the financials for the quarterly earnings reports.
Last time it we were notified on a Thursday and our last day was 4 days into a new pay period. It doesn't make any difference what day it is.
They're doing a town hall meeting on 3/3 for the Diplomat folks. Does anyone know if they lay off during these?
Possibly related to pay periods.
@OP dunno but they have been laying people off in masses the first Wednesday of the month for some months now.
