Enterprise clinical solutions town hall on 3/5. Could this be lay-off day for optum? I am currently an RN in case management.

I still have the email where the ECS town hall was cancelled for Jan 29th and asked us to remove from our calendar stating it would be re-scheduled for 3/5. I can see why they are avoiding this week with layoffs occurring. But damn step up and own it.

Don’t y’all think it’s strange the announced ECS town hall, aka Christy and Erin show has not been scheduled. Today is 3/3.

They told us what a great job we were doing, and how we were rock stars and crushing it. We were family, the leaders said they really appreciated all the hard work and dedication, helping to improve lives...….4months later they laid 35% of our department off, some of who were nurses and care coordintors. So much for rock stars and fake gratitude more like American corporate propaganda.

I’m with advocate4me in M&R and the calls have drastically slowed down the last few weeks. When asked where the calls are we are told “we are great. A4M calls are coming soon”.

Does anyone know if the NurseLine nurses will be affected in the March 4th layoff?

Our theme song for this lay-off will be Bieber .... we were (those of us gone) and those of us who fear being gone - are all good people that were wronged or have been wronged with poor to no raise etc, and for those who will be wronged by any and all future layoffs. Sing this lyric to UHG as your breakup song “my mama don’t like you and she likes everyone” 😂

Wow, ok now we know what to watch for! Many direct practice behavioral health jobs are hurting because they can’t find staff to work there for such low pay. They actually call it a BH shortage. Just like there is a Nurse shortage too. Since managed care has traditionally been in the last 20 years the best place for BH staff to work (remote work, higher pay) all BH know to apply to managed care locations, so less and less people want to work direct practice anymore. I wonder if a mass dump of BH staff out the door would fill the dire need for direct practice BH roles? Managed care realizes a new hire BH will take $35k whereas us older BH expect $75K or more as median range. Originally in college no one chose BH because it didn’t make a ton of money. It still doesn’t. But how will they fill BH need for staff around the country? By layoffs of 10+ year BH staff from managed care locations? There just aren’t enough grads choosing BH majors. There just isn’t mich money in the low level worker bee roles with or without a license. This will be interesting to see how this all goes in a week! I believe this sites posts and will be watching!

@5ulf All I know for sure is that Behavioral Health Advocates are part of Optum Clinical Operations.

What type of people are affected in ECS clinical operations? I'm not sure if that's me...

@4eun Thank you for letting us know. Time to mentally prepare if you haven't already.

Just like the 1980s and 1990s. Hospitals recruited nurses to come from the Phillipines to subdue the nursing shortage. There is still a nursing shortage. UHG and Optum are doing the same thing to pay less. These nurses are not for the USA, only themselves and will return to their jungles after they get their rewards and benefits on the backs of real Americans.

I really pray they don’t go this route. This would be so low. IF they do then there are other opportunities out there where you will be appreciated for the value and countless lives you save!!! I’ll follow this link and if they do I’ll post opportunities. USA,USA,USA...

If they can offshore you legally, they will do it. Let us know how many nurses get hit that first week in March. This would likely just be the initial phase as they move more to phillipnes etc. over the next couple of years.

If nurses are safe, are BH staff safe? We are cheaper than nurses and we have lots of duplication in our behavioral health departments. Will cuts happen in behavioral? Also,if nurses are being hired in Philippines, are they also searching for behavioral health staff there too? Yes they’d be cheaper to hire bc as a Beahvioral Care Advocate we make between 65-80k and nurses, as I understand make more like 90k-120k and above. Will this company start hiring all offshore nurses and therapists soon? When I saw a direct practice clinical job posted in California offering 70k I was like no way because I can earn that here in another state and have a better quality of life. Everyone leaves California, New York because it’s too expensive to live there. For UM, I know they plan to automate as much as possible but for coaching and motivational interviewing and medical/behavioral involvement that would be very shocking if all of us lost our jobs to Phillipines but now we know what could happen! If it’s happening to nurses it can happen to us!

They are advertising for US licensed nurses in the Phillipines. Pay them Grade 24 vs grade 26 in us. So Nurses are not safe.

Lots of robotic scripted statements and talking a lot and saying nothing. Town hall nonsense. Enough of the dancing and wigs jabber. It was a duvita healthcare partner joke with theme music blasting for doctors!?! No self respect, but you move on and you learn the realities of American corporations. do these US corporate sheep look themselves in the mirror, heck no. They believe there own lies. Sickos

They announced the ECS town hall would take place on 3/5 when the prior one was cancelled, but invites have not been sent for 3/5 yet. If layoffs occur on 3/4 they would want to only include those that will remain. It’s so hard to believe anything leadership says, there were zero questions in the last all hands meeting I attended. There is no trust left.
