Thread regarding UnitedHealth Group Inc. layoffs

LAY-OFF TRACKING LIST

This site is getting overwhelming with posts, most are helpful but some are not. I’m sure we are all tired of looking through posts trying to find real lay-off info so maybe this will help!

Please only add comments of confirmed layoffs (already happened to you/someone you know)! Be specific, UHG is a big company.....

BUSINESS SEGMENT, DEPARTMENT, JOB LEVEL, HOW MANY, LAY-OFF DATE

please no identifying information due to management trolls

Linking the Optum Sr Leader confirmation post here since there is a troll reposting rhetoric 50 times on various threads. @1xui+13h7acp0

@1zis+139Fp4qO - I figured about the severance, same thing happened to me here first time in 2000. The two weeks notice is c-ap though, I would've just walked out.. you're a better person than I am - thanks for responding to my question, people seldom respond. Hope the new job is treating you well! :)

60+ employees from UHC E&I were laid off back in October.

@1gnm+139Fp4qO When I was laid off in October, I was told by HR Direct that you can't keep your severance pay if you go back to work as a UHC employee before your official termination date.

You can keep your severance if you are hired back as an employee after your official termination date. You can also keep your severance pay if you are hired back as a contractor after your official termination date.

Clinical Services UHC HCT program 200+ lay-off notice 11/6 and last day was 11/15/19. This was a position that had UHC employees throughout US in larger cities with workers in hospitals. Pulled into a department wide webex on a Wednesday morning notifying us in 2 weeks we would be out of work.

You would be surprised how many managers will leak the coming layoff to good employees. You do know Managers many times are being told to reach out to teams to transition a soon to be layoffd employee. It gets out quickly. It's happening right now.

1 confirmed layoff so far in this post. I'm sure others will trickle in. But, oh so many rumors. Out of how many thousands laid off? I heard layoffs coming on 1-31. (I just made that up as nobody here knows but i'm sure management is gossiping to the rank and file at this very moment on exact dates/jobs/and locations). Right.

I was part of Optum layoffs on Dec 4th, 1200 layoffs (Or so I’ve been told) total for the BH segment of UM. They contacted me two weeks later and offered my job back, said they “made a mistake“ aka they were being fined daily
For not following state contract guidelines and had no clue this would happen prior to laying off half my team. Lucky enough I already had another offer and was able to say NO.

Yes, first week in February is what I’m hearing as well. My department at UHC will be impacted. This makes me so sad, mad, frustrated and hurt but I/we must push forward for our own well being. Let’s not let this company s— anymore if our energy and talents. And I agree with other comments that the townhall was a slap in the face! I felt like I was watching a cult leader pass around the koolaid and Ireland was drinking from the poisoned cup
