Pentagram getting millions for redesigning the fp logo?

Seriously? who’s the putz that green lit pentagram turning the letters in a vintage logo and making some c-appy emojis? FP needs to get back to pushing the envelope and stop with the package redesigns, futuristic videos of toys to come and logos revisions. You mean to tell me with all the talent in buffalo there wasn’t one designer that could revamp a vintage logo that they had to pay a top design agency mega bucks?? fire the clown that spearheaded this debacle.

the last poster must be a part of the JS mean girl click who has slovenly deep throated the pink kool aid and hangs out with his cool kid do nothing but take credit crowd. All he does is take credit for high profile projects. The most narcissistic do nothing in the campus. I will gleefully video his walk of shame out that door and post it on youtube.

JS is great. Very talented and a good person. Tame the hate emanating from your own self-loathing.

Did they ever finish remodeling the first floor of FP HQ?

JS is the said putz, who will gladly take credit for everyone's work. including pentagram. The old fool needs to go.

anyone with a hole in their bum who works for fp/mattel would be outraged by such spendthrift irresponsibility. Doesn’t take an IL to call out the obvious that the same incompetence is at the helm of the ship.

What were FP sales after the big second half campaign push?

Clever toys catch the consumers eye and purchase, not fancy fonts.....

@4imy+138YMMSv I think they're hoping that once the plaintiffs see how fresh, fun and trendy the new branding and advertising is, they'll just forget all about their wrongful death suits.

One less bump, one dot and two lowercase letters. Genius. Fisher price should have saved the millions for the infant death lawsuits.

pentagrams big scam is charging mega bucks to redesign “heritage” logos. they took the original lower case fp logo and rotated the character in the circle. look in that stupid history of fp hardcover book that’s always laying around the office. they charged for a presentation and minimal work. Whomever is taking credit for hiring them should be the first to be fired.

Other than cost reducing the bumps from 4 to 3, I'm okay with the new logos and font. Just not happy with the money spent on the outside for this un-needed change. How many employees are going to be laid off to cover the cost of this new logo design? Looks like Pentagram spent more time and money justifying the logo change with the animation and story than they did in 'redesigning' the logo.

You don't pay millions for the labor it takes to remove the one bump, you pay millions for the brilliance and insight that envisions a three bump logo.

And they changed the hyphen from a straight line to a circle, ingenious.

@138YMMSv-1vdd That's not the only difference. They also changed first letter in both words from uppercase to lowercase.

So wait, the only difference is that the old logo had 4 bumps on the bottom and the new one has 3 bumps. Don't get me wrong, I think the redesign looks great, but you don't pay millions to have someone remove 1 bump from your logo. Like the OP said, this could be accomplished by an intern with a passing understanding of Adobe Illustrator in about 3 minutes.

That's the kicker. Look at the articles online. The new trend is to take a legacy logo and slightly tweak it and make bank on the "redesign":

I don't think the logo was redesigned. I just checked the website and it looks the same as it's always looked.
