Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Woodfield

Someone who works at Woodfield said they are closing the second floor. the stock there is very low and areas have been condensed. Not sure it will last long.

I was at Woodfield Tuesday after work and had not been on a while. I entered thru Sears and it was shocking how empty it was. Embarrassing actually.

Makes sense. Now that Land's End is leaving the 1st floor they could just move downstairs and lease upstairs. I have also heard that we are having issues with jewelry vendors (dropping some watch brands) and also we won't have much inventory in lawn mowers this spring. Not selling tractors any more.

Things are condensed everywhere. Vendors have no trust. Eddie has no money. There is no inventory to stock the store. Members don't want to come into what looks like an old dying store. Then there's no money for stock or Eddie. It's a vicious cycle that's been happening since Eddie took over because he doesn't care to invest in improving the member experience, rather, he's actively done all he can to drive them away. He's even explicitly said he doesn't care about getting new customers, Sears and Kmart have all it needs. With leadership and vision like that, failure was inevitable.
