Thread regarding General Electric Co. layoffs

You are fired

If you are a very hard working employee hired externally without being on any GE program, then you are targeted to get fired. This lay off only apply to non GE program employee. So don't think that you will be promoted with your hard work and great performance. You will in fact be asked for resignation or fired because you are more competent than GE program employee. Because for them and for HR your great performance is failing HR program.

I agree 100% with the buddy system comment. Being included into the buddy system is the only way to survive. It doesn't matter about your work ethic, experience, or performance. The buddies get away with doing nothing. Absolutely nothing but socializing all day.

I have seen this happening because of buddy system.....the whole system is just a buddy system. I know they want to reduce head count but which head to cut is decided by buddy system. Forget about merit, reward, recognition. Those things doesn't exist at GE. I have seen non experience person from cas put in director and executive role with no experience at all.

Repairing iPhones in a mall kiosk is much more honorable than riding the clock at GE.

Another day, another disgruntled employee that was let-go.

Don’t let this get into your head; this has nothing to do with merit. They have to reduce headcount plain and simple. Don’t take this too personally and you’ll be okay.
