The snakes are on the hunt! The people that know very little about the product will be promoted. This is the how NOV operates!

When everything around you is absolutely opaque, in other words you don't see, hear or sense a thing even from your own trusted colleagues, friends, or managers (if any). A dead silence before the storm.

People that are normally not in the office are showing up to the office.
Getting hounded on expense reports.
Travel plans not being approved.
Bosses are asking for updates or 'Best Next Actions'
None of these apply to the CMO of course, as his continuous spending, ridiculous trade show posts and useless charity efforts continue to be excused by the executive team.
Also does not apply to any chitter chatter mall cops on segways cruising the floors at the tower with his tan sports cape.

Bosses making lists of employee responsibilities, more random d–g tests, no one wants to buy anyone else lunch anymore, morale is at an all-time low (which is saying a lot for this sh– hole) and we all have a sense of impending doom.
