They are trying to get rid of the union

company will keep making cuts to craft and techs until the union is gone, then hire contractors to do all the work, we all know this is what is going on, because the company keeps saying they dont have the dollars yet keep hiring more non union employees for everything from graphics to contract managers. central office, broadband, network and customer techs will follow dispatch, service and area supervisors as level 3 destroys the local areas of the company. Its time to either spin off the utility and service parts of the business so those who have always done all the work and satisfied the customers and end users before all of our customers are so fed up that they will never come back.

Exactly. There is no they are trying to break the union. First, it's forty different bargaining units of varying size, mostly small. Second, it's already broken. The largest bargaining unit bends over for the company, and saves them the hassle of negotiating pay for 8k employees individually. The company loves being able to point the finger at the union and shrug when called on their BS.

Stop buying the bogus us and them mentality. CenturyLink is cutting costs by cutting everyone.

well you know that Mr CEO had a plan before he even took over . this has all been thought out and put through Legal , HR and Finance . This site is all bout layoffs and any information about layoffs . Right before the merger the big push from the top was to get all the dark fibers tested and qualified or the merger would not be approved . All we heard from our director was hurry , hurry 39 gazillion dollars is at stake !. Then within 30 days all the layoffs started . they will continue with their plan and they wont tell us what it is . All we hear from our director is " its not good " , " we are not doing well " , " the stock is to low " and then he yells at us like its our fault.
They promised wall street hundreds of Millions in " Synergy " savings and until they reach that 530 Million our whatever it was they will not stop laying off. That is the only goal , not customer service , not quality of service , not customer retention , they just don't give a c-ap !
