Agree to disagree. The fact a major product launch like HAMR keeps moving further into the future means you aren't making planned on revenues when you're the best thing out there. How many times have we been told that if new product X launches next quarter we get $Y and if it launches the quarter after that we get $Y-Z%, and the quarter after that even less?

Yes, that can be mitigated by other adjustments in product releases.

Delayed product launches always negatively impact revenue and profits and jobs.

HAMR's delay cost no one their jobs as PMR was extended. Even adding more heads and discs is likely still cheaper than the first HAMR product. The simple fact is the number of product lines are reduced and exiting some markets like laptop and 10K are reducing the number of people more than anything.

Good luck with HAMR. I hope so for everyone I know who has survived the bloodbath of layoffs the past 5 years. But it's been a year away for the past 3 years. Far too late for a lot of good people to keep their jobs.

Not everyone that reads or posts to this board is negative about Seagate. I see a bright future ahead. I sleep at night confident in HAMR because I trust the men and women who are building it. I may disagree with leadership at times, but our products are world-class thanks to my team and the other teams I work with.

They last lay-off cycle didn’t happen so to me it says revenue was stable last quarter.

What happens when there is no more staff to cut?

Seagate is a dividend stock. They'll keep cutting staff to keep earnings up and paying dividends to shareholders. As long as costs keep decreasing faster than revenue it'll look attractive, especially if dividend rates increase.

The easiest way to decrease costs is...….

Seagate upper management is utterly devoid of creativity.
