I keep checking here for some juicy, cringeworthy news from Mattel but nothing is forthcoming lately. What's up? NYTF is a month away, Jojo the dancing CFO is leaving in a few months and "visionary" CEO Ynot's contract is up in April. Things are happening, something's afoot! Somebody knows something, come on, spill the beans! Don't make me wait for the Q4 results on Feb 6, I'm tired of hearing how Jojo has been cooking the books every quarter to make Mattel just barely beat expectations. I'm betting Ynot & Jojo both scram in April with $20+ million each, leaving Mattel holding the bag of flaming p–p. They can just barely keep the economic facade up until then. Despite what sellout Kramer says, no one has fixed this company at all, they just gave it a combover.

Disabuse yourself of a sellout offer, it's not happening. No one wants to buy Barbie's for their daughters after the #MeToo movement, and Mattel stopped innovating except for their lame "inclusive dolls" that look like their from Misfit Toyland. Certainly Disney is NOT going to buy Mattel, nor the CA government, hahahahaha, you know others besides Mattel are "Capital Light," right? Can you imagine the riots in the streets if CA government bailed out Mattel, a company who rewards losing money with millions to the top 5%? Remember Enron, PanAm, JC Penney, Sears, Macys, Mattel, stories for future what not to do classes in business school. If Mattel wanted to earn everyone's good graces, the top 5% would have taken a pay CUT. But the rich just keep getting richly rewarded, regardless of actual performance, the band is still playing on the Titanic.

I'm surprised Mattel didn't announce a cure for Corona virus at Toy Fair just to grab some headlines on the cheap. It's been SOP for many years to loudly promote vaporware at NYTF. Aristotle, Thingmaker, Hologram Barbie. Hello Barbie was a short-lived tech flash in the pan and Hot Wheels ID is following suit.

What can the state of California pay for Mattel?
I keep hearing rumors that the state of California is interested in buying Mattel in order to preserve what they see it as an "organization with special cultural significance to Southern California". Personally I feel like our tax dollars could be put to better use, but what do I know, I'm just some homeless guy.

MEGA is totally on the ropes. What do you expect from a second class copycat organization? Of course Mattel is copying that format. Ynon & Joe will get out will their millions just after NYTF. The only consolation is that savior and Thetan RD will be left holding the flaming bag of excrement with no one to blame.
How are things at AG? We rarely hear about them or MEGA. I always assume no news is bad news in this case.

That means the average Mattel employee would have to work for 5,000 years before they earned as much as Margo did in a single year. Keep in mind, during her tenure, Mattel's stock lost half it's value. 😔 Who knows how much Ynon is making?
Because two year contract is up and he has scored lottery type money for leading an unprofitable company that is still shrinking on the top line. The trust me card can not be played by execs anymore. They have figured out how to write themselves massive compensation packages for outright failure. Plenty of F’s to go around. Remember, according to Forbes, CEO is making more than 4900 times the average employee, for failure.

You should have more faith in the Mattel Ceo and exec team. They have turned the ship around if you look at the stock and all the new things happening here in EA and out in LA. I don’t know much about AG but I hear that is better now also.
If only media impressions translated to sales or even views for that matter. You do know that only means our ads were displayed 100 billion times (or so they say), not even clicked on so essentially irrelevant.
Mattel's going to need to pull out all the stops for this year's NYTF. I predict the debut of an all new line of Bluetooth connected, voice activated, holographic, 3d printed, wearable, bioplastic based, gender neutral dolls with smart RFID technology that allows all of the toys across the world to communicate with each other in a real-time transmedia ecosystem. It will be based on the Greta Thunberg license and will be called Linkloudagirls Crew, and it will be perfect!
Media impressions and appearances do not translate to sales. Sales numbers prove how wrong this logic is!
