We passed disaster when the first injuries and deaths started happening at the beginning of this PSR scheme 5 fatalities last year and countless injuries, starting the new year/finishing the final quarter off with three major injuries at one facility that is completely unacceptable. Everyone knows that with less people to do jobs you put more strain on those left to complete tasks that safely take multiple people to achieve causing burnout which leads to injuries, accidents, and loss of productivity and their favorite buzzword “efficiency”, but hey shareholders can’t get hurt and thats the only people that this current crop of “leaders” care about. Sadly the current “leadership” forgets that at the end of the day they already got the stockholders money and in truth the only value they add is a one time payment. Your customers (who they managed to run off by providing poor service and by telling them how to run their businesses) are your most important people to satisfy, your employees are the next because without them you couldn’t achieve servicing your main source of income, stockholders should be last because their one time investment unless it’s worth millions is just a blip on the bottom line of profits. So this current “leadership” is extremely blind to anything other then the money that they’ll get when they pull their golden parachutes ripcord. Which is sad because the ones suffering here are those actually important to the continued success of a once great (yes I realize that’s debatable) 150 year old company that will be left behind to clean up this monumentally extensive cluster they’ll have left behind.
