Bummer about Ho Yip. That place was great.
Ho yip closed man, they took the whole building apart, unless they reopened someplace else that I don’t know. Was next to BK forever.
I agree that more people will be trimmed before the move but the new building is also the same building LSE has their office in. So i wouldn't read too much into it. It never made sense to be in times sq.
The word is that that will be a sales office - meaning the rest of the roles will be "offshored" before that. This seems to be supported by that the 3 floors they are planning with does not seem to be able to house the number of people at 3XSQ Refinitiv today.
If I were still there, I'd be jumping for joy over the move. XQ is terrible. It is everything that s—s about NYC wrapped in a 4 block radius. Eurotrash tourists, Mickey Mouse hustlers, and overpriced mediocre food.
Downtown is soooo much nicer, the commute is essentially the same unless you live in CT or Westchester, and there's Ho Yip!
It’s a cost saving measure, there’s too much office space in 3xsq for the number of people that remain
