Employee Complaints - 30 Day Summary - Nov 15 to Dec 15 2019 (source below)

  1. Product Marketing Manager in Denver, CO

Business processes and internal systems are complex and difficult to navigate. The Marketing organization as a whole is far more focused on itself and its own culture and processes than on understanding customers and helping Sales succeed. There is so much being done in the name of "Agile" but in practice it is anything but.

  1. Research Scientist in Cambridge, MA

The upper management is not inspiring - neither in Cambridge nor up to the top of IBM Research (a few are great though). Folks with the title director know how to talk well, but I wish they were not here - they just bother us to do our work. Sometimes press coming from the lab highlining "great" success is very inaccurate. There are no 100+ publications as published in Xconomy.

  1. Regional Sales Manager in New York, NY

Lots of employees and employees are not visable

  1. Graduate Research Assistant

Large company. Administration is slow.

  1. Delivery Partner Executive

Bittersweet experience - Conflicting directives - Slow to respond to customer needs

  1. User Experience Designer

If you get a bad manager growth can be hard

  1. Program Manager

Lot of red tape - Very corporate - Some parts stuck in their old ways

  1. IT Management Consultant/Sales Support Specialist in Herndon, VA

benefits package could be better

  1. Senior Talent Acquisition Partner in Ann Arbor, MI

My cons would be that I didn't learn about IBM sooner.

  1. Inside Sales Quoting Representative in Miami, FL

No plans to growth, to much stress, changing old employments by millenials.

  1. Full Stack Developer

Getting everyone on same page.

  1. Software Engineer

As a newcomer, a little more hand-holding would have been welcome.

  1. Senior Staff Software Engineer in Lenexa, KS

shifting priorities, but its still not a big issue

  1. R&D Hardware Engineer

Sometimes management not in touch with the engineering challenges for certain projects. Procurement did not seem to keep the research division in mind when making new rules.

  1. Marketing Manager in Armonk, NY

marketing department and executive staff in marketing are a complete disaster. Ginni need not look farther than the incompetence in the marketing area as to why things aren't going well for Big Blue. Not the same company as it was 20 years ago.

  1. Data Consultant in Germany, OH

Move slow comparing to other giants and start-up companies

  1. Associate Offering Manager

nothing in particular to say

  1. Customer Service Representative

Stressing. Mangers don’t really care about you

  1. Current Employee - Database Developer

Visibility to the higher management is less.

  1. Senior Consultant in New York, NY

No complaints, it’s just perfect to innovate and learn

  1. QA Test Lead

Sometimes internal politics. Intentionally some people demotivate others so that they put papers.

  1. Market Demand Specialist in Philadelphia, PA

Management decisions are often based on unclear goals and self-serving managers

  1. Senior Technical Consultant in Washington, DC

Can sometimes feel stuck on a client

  1. Software Engineer

Need room for career growth

  1. Mainframe Developer

Slow adoption of new technology

  1. Senior Software Engineer in Tucson, AZ

Great people but too much overhead - Too much politics, Way too many executives and not enough workers

  1. Smt Engineer in New York, NY

Slow moving ranks. Need to work hard.

  1. Full Stack Developer

Nothing to say as a cons in IBM

  1. Software Sales in Austin, TX

This company is changing...its not the same company I spent so many years with. There seems to be a bias against older workers and it is possible to get a capricious termination at any time even if performing well.

  1. Software Developer

In my experience there have been frequent reorgs

  1. Senior Team Lead

Bad hikes yearly. Salary is less

  1. Summit Digital Sales Specialist in Dallas, TX

No organization whatsoever in the digital rotation program, will stick you anywhere just because of headcount - Out of the blue PAY CUTS. They are giving out significant pay cuts along with reducing benefits - Management doesn't care. The premise of the rotation program was to find people job opportunities moving out but 80% of the people graduating from the program do not have placements and are essentially unemployed.

  1. ISO9000 Auditor

Distance - long hours - standing long periods

  1. IT Specialist in Washington, DC

If you work well then you are stuck to that project. Manager will refuse to let you go.

  1. Project Management

The company is very resistant to change and new ideas. The culture also depends entirely on how IBM upper management values the business unit you work in; it's not consistent across all areas.

  1. Software Engineer

Feels like everyone is complaning about his work conditions (Global compensation + offices) Hierarchy is a infantilizing toward the employees.

  1. Digital Sales in Boston, MA

Mid levels managers are great but in a difficult position. Less time on cadence, more time on how to help reps be successful

  1. Project Manager in Boulder, CO

Constant reorganization, uncertainty, lack of communication and clear direction

  1. Account Manager in Kansas City, MO

Other’s company’s gaining market share

  1. IT Specialist in India, MS

Restriction period : On every year they exit some of the employees on restrict period

  1. Financial Analyst

Not enough transparency for advancement

  1. Solution in Keyser, WV

Treated like a number - Company to big to care about general employee

  1. Senior Principal Consultant in Philadelphia, PA

Very poor integration of the businesses that were acquired to form Watson Health. Not sure IBM executives truly understand health care. IBM is extremely bureaucratic, far worse than any company I've been a part of. Administrative overhead makes it extremely difficult to get your job done.

  1. Client Relationship Representative in Dallas, TX

Extremely disorganized and suffers from the pains of being such a large corporate company.

  1. Digital Strategy Consultant in New York, NY

No pay transparency and management wants to pay you as little as possible - There is a lot of talk about new initiatives, but rarely any execution

  1. Senior Network Engineer in Bentonville, AR

In the Bentonville office they are strictly a Walmart vendor. Contracts come and go.

  1. Analyst

Vacation, remote work, a few talented people

  1. Project Manager

Never a decision when needed, to top heavy, redhat is forcing older staff layoffs and hiring cheap labor as billing rates are crazy high.

  1. Consultant in Washington, DC

Don't get sick - they'll move to fire you. | No compassion. | Missed the cloud market. | Very difficult to move to new roles.
