COBRA: Transition from SHLD to Transformco?

Currently have medical coverage under COBRA through Sears Holdings. Received a letter last month that said my COBRA coverage would be moved to Transformco on 01/01/2020 and that I would receive the necessary paperwork by the middle of December. Open enrollment for COBRA is 12/15-12/28. Today is 12/17. I have not received a letter about how to move my COBRA coverage to Transformco.

Questions:

  1. ) Has anybody received letters explaining how to move COBRA coverage from SHLD to Transformco?
  2. ) Whom should I contact for more information?

Success! I am the original poster. I confirmed today that my COBRA coverage will be moving from Sears Holdings to Transformco on 01/01/2020. The transfer was automatic. I did not have to take any action.

Follow the steps below to confirm that your SHLD COBRA coverage will be moved to Transformco on 01/01/2020.

NOTE: You MUST USE Chrome or Windows Explorer when performing these steps. Other browsers (e.g., Apple Safari) will not work.

  1. Go to 88sears.com; Transformco Human Resources Site opens
  2. Under the Benefits Information menu, click on: TRANSFORMCO Enroll/View/Change Coverage (NEW); TRANSFORMCO Benefits Resources Login screen opens
  3. Go to the yellow-highlighted text and click on “here”; Login screen opens
  4. Under the Log On bar, click on “New User?”; Personal Identification screen opens
  5. Enter your personal information and click on “Continue”; Screen opens showing your current SHLD coverage and your Transformco coverage that will be starting on 01/01/2020

88 Sears is not helping. All they can tell me is my benefits end December 31 2019, but I should have coverage through 2020. I've left a voice mail for my previous HR Director to see if she can provide assistance.

I also have not yet received a letter as of Dec 18th. I decided to go with healthcare.gov and other dental insurance since I do not trust anything that is going on with Transform/old Sears. Best to move on. I say this because in my last visit to Sears Wood field, it's about the worst I have ever seen the store look. If the flagship store is this bad, it doesn't bode well for the organization. It almost looks like the bottom is going to fall out early in 2020.

I’m the OP. Have called 888-SEARS multiple times over the last few days. Always get a message that says: Systems are experiencing difficulties. Please call back later.

Worried about not having medical coverage on Jan. 1st.!
