Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Merry Christmas

I know it must be tough guys but we have to focus on what is important and that is making sure the management team has bonuses and that these shareholders are making even more money. So please don't take it personal. Once the golden PARACHUTE is deployed you furloughed guys will be back so untill then from the heart's of the glass palace.... Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!! P.S more furloughs are coming hehehehe!!!!

Don’t worry about this dude, he spams on here on the regular and so his Christmas and life are sad enough everyone needs to pray for him.

@OP managers at UP are generally treated like garbage, so I’m not following you here.

Junior/mid-level managers are often directed to perform jobs like flagging, lookout, backfilling for train crew, etc. in addition to managerial duties, and are typically working 12-14 hour days often for a month straight with no day off. All of this for a salary that is well below average for the amount of time spent on the job (and with no overtime pay). If you’re lucky, you may get a $3k-$5k bonus. Divide that by 365 and tell us all how great it is.

FYI, not every manager is a “kid straight out of college”. About half of them are former agreement employees who crossed over via the FMT program.
