Oh we're totally loosing money on the Amazon or any other large name companies we're selling to. Those companies wouldn't consider working with us unless they were getting an outrageous deal.
People have no idea how much it takes to deliver a proper circuit, but sales has to hit the numbers so they can go on their fancy island trip every year. The rest of us have to make it work.
I bet it’s write down but that’s the nature of the industry right now.
zero, its fake. that was easy.
Any guess on what the MRC is per 100G? Any guess on the NET revenue return for Windstream?
I have a dam good idea - wondering if others do as well
"ACME actually became ACME Packets, manufacture of the 1st generation of SBC's on our VoIP network. They are not owned by Oracle, True Story!"
In this instance, its way more likely to be the fictional company selling anvils, explosive tennis balls and road runner feed to Wile E. Coyote.
"The customer is the ACME corporation. "
ACME actually became ACME Packets, manufacture of the 1st generation of SBC's on our VoIP network. They are not owned by Oracle, True Story!
The customer is the ACME corporation.
It’s a bogus announcement. Read the details and you can see the the bs
Every leg of that winterstate 2.0 route thru my footprint failed characterzation testing......but was deemed “close enough”.
at this point, a bogus announcement is not going to con the major creditors, anybody elsewhere in telecom or WIN’s employees.
Maybe by now, these announcements about big deals and becoming a software company are mostly an attempt by executives to talk themselves up in their own minds. At some deep level, it’s got to be soul-shredding to screw up so bad and to be so widely disrespected.
So you straighten your tie, look in the mirror and say to yourself, “Yes, but none of them see how far we've come as a great software company” and “if they really knew about that hyperscale megadeal we did with Big Tech they’d be singing a different tune”.
Little boys beat up on the playground looking to talk their way out of feeling ashamed and humiliated.
I agree, for such a incredible deal and amount of capacity, why no mention of any specifics? No company name, no detail other than some optimistic adjectives. Yeah we get it, you have a real GF, she's from Canada, a name or picture? no she doesnt like giving out her name and she doesnt have a picture yet, but yeah, shes a model... and from canada..... right. I am not falling for this and I hope the banks dont either, TT getting desperate.
Excellent point. Since when does NO exec put their name on this release of news? Normally its tony or a sales VP and they even state the customer name and how they will be helping their business.
Isn’t this why we are turning up the new Winterstate 2.0 routes? If so it’s been going on for about 18 months now.
I am guessing that its made up and that it is none of the high profile names you mentioned that leadership would wet their pants to have their name associated with. if it was, they would have published their name for the publicity. nope, its no one, just another lie and right around the time we need to show something big to get the additional 8 months of funding for the execs to pocket.
I'm guessing that this is Amazon, Google, or Microsoft. No one else
is really competing in the cloud market at that scale. The only other player
at that level if Facebook, they generally buy dark fiber and not bandwidth from us
this doesnt pass the sniff test. A larger deal than the company has ever had in its entire history, including when it actually had a reputation? Timed towards the end of bankruptcy as the money is running out? during a period when no one trusts the company, the employees and current customers are coming out in record numbers publicly stating how terrible a company it is? No sane customer would be stupid enough to take the risk. I call bravo sierra on this. This is a last ditch hail mary effort to fudge the truth in the hope of changing the optics on this disaster. Now the leaders of the company lying and exaggerating things to get themselves a little more money? That fits perfectly with this place.
Windstream has a way of taking a renewal of a customer contract or a change in service delivery like a cfa rehome or ckt redesign and making that look like a new customer on paper. I am still not seeing any new customer turnups, only MAC orders and disconnects.
Would love to see the details on this. Has to be heavily discounted for any serious large customer to take on that kind of risk. Even with that, it'll likely prove out to be irresponsible. I bet there are covenants on the deal that "protect" the customer financially in a substantial manner that no right minded service provider would commit to. Also, is Windstream taking an active role in data transfer or is this just leasing a few dark fibers, in which case the latter would make the total data amount completely irrelevant.
Curious here. A previous comment made me wonder about something. I can do the simple math that says if we spend x amount per month and have 5x left then we have 5 months left (unless sales pick up I assume). What is the average time to install and invoice from the moment a sale is completed? If its 90-180 days then someone should pretty much know fairly soon the exact last day before the lights go out.
More smoke and mirrors from the Arkansas five. Yawn.
Probably a strategic sale whereas windstream loses money and engineering and operations are pushed to the brink to get it completed.
However sales get their commissions and a trip to some resort while leadership brags on growth.
Kind of like spending 50k to build trucks and then selling them at 30k. Sure we are citing revenue growth but increasing losses. Remember Gboys hate GAAP and this is one of the reasons why
if its legit, it will take us longer to install than we have runway left to run the company. The lights will be off months if not years before we could send out the first invoice.
