Thread regarding UnitedHealth Group Inc. layoffs

Keep Jobs at Home

If UHC and Optum are doing these mass lay-offs and sending jobs off -shore why isn't it in the news? We are one of the largest healthcare companies in the USA. People should contact the Wall Street Journal or AP and write an email to the White House, This story needs to be told. We need a whistleblower of our own. I am not sophisticated enough to hide my identity or I would. Anyone?

They are mindfully laying off people in multiple rounds of less than 500 at a time to avoid having to follow the Federal WARN Act. No integrity or compassion.

Someone posted that they had a relative married to a Trump relative and they would pass an envelope to him detailing what is happening at their annual Christmas party.

What was said about Trump?

Anyone notice the person who posted about Trump has disappeared? Does this site erase posts? Or does the company have the ability to pull them?

I heard the UHG “cost efficiency” target was 10% by year end and we’ve been doing RIFs since 2017. So across the company of over 300K people that is an estimated 30 thousand people laid off this year. Because it’sh–ting in waves and different areas at different times the magnitude is likely flying under the radar.

This is newsworthy to those people whose lives have been affected.

Why don't YOU report it to the Wall Street Journal or New York Times....? They will even protect your anonymity. The problem is, you have nothing that is really "newsworthy" here.

It doesn't make the news because in the grand scheme of things, "only" 1% of our workforce is affected. No one cares about the 3000 LIVES.

It's TRUE, it's just business as usual... it should be illegal but uhc has a bunch of lawyers etc on retainer that just work these issues and how to skirt the laws. Is it moral? Is it ethical? Hell no, but it's how uhc makes money. If you really want to get sick, Google how much uhc has spent on lobbyists in Washington! Last I checked was a few years ago and it was in the millions. Uhc is corrupt to its "core" values

They are giving nurses in the Philippines large sign on bonuses and helping them get their US license, they have a “US RN Academy”. I found a bunch of job postings from Dec 4th offering a 100k bonus and guaranteed job at an Optum Global Solution location if they become US RNs. I’m a nurse care manager and was wondering why we had nurses in the Philippines acting as CACs, requesting our clinicals, now I think they’re actually just training to take our jobs over completely.

I have received no reply, so I emailed Medicare about how they manage accounts if the tax payers only new..It most likely is a violation of contracts to have unlicensed people or computers reviewing for Medicare and medicaid.

People really deserve to know how shady UHG and optum are a billion dollar company and no reports of layoffs in the press..it would appear that someone is cooking the books as all stock reports indicate optum is the cash cow of UHG and doing phenomenal...

Someone is lying and sounds like an investigation worthy to me...

Need a union. It only matters when you have numbers in back of you. Healthcare Services by an American company should NOT be offshored.

A Fortune 500 company laying off employees or offshoring workers is business as usual. There is nothing scandalous happening. It is unfortunate but it is also part of today's global economy and corporate culture.
