In reorg aren’t they counting on internal turmoil to stir the pot. Isn’t that a tactic they desire, and maybe your boss under the gun reacting because if it. Never know when they talk about not trusting anyone

None of that prior post made sense..? This site is for people making their best guess as to what will happen. Some posts are accurate dates but some are just what staff think will happen. Happy to read all of what staff think but again no one really knows and it makes sense true info about layoffs is guard until the day of. When people are fearful of losing a job they can let fear take them over so maybe it’s just staff posting from a fearful mental space.

  • “separate colleagues from connection and communication intentionally. To keep no one aware.”... Just wondering?

Don’t you think management and the executives know about this website (lay-off.com?)

I suppose they can “put” us on different teams, but once we’re friends, we’re always connected; internet, texts, phone...

To upper management: your psychology is 💀 dead like, Hitler.

Nah, We aren’t stopping you from working. Carry on! We’re here. Until we’re not. No biggie either way.

You people are doom and gloom. Just quit already so the rest of us can do our jobs.

we expect disaster in terms of those impacted but not a thing we can do so no reason to stress out. They would rather a mass exodus than layoffs right? So let’s all sit here and do nothing.

What company doesn't have layoffs honestly? "Poisoning" the company isn't going to do anyone any good and probably just result in more people losing their jobs.

January 2020 everyone will be moved under Optum. This is so they don’t have to pay severance to anyone. More cost cutting measures needed to stop the financial bleeding. More management cuts coming. Claims automatically denied because we don’t have hard funds to pay them. We are not stable now. Cuts could help but the ship is going down if we continue this compassionless path. Two higher level management mentally breaking down. Karma. Already rumors around planned multiple reorganization even in Q1 2020 to separate colleagues from connection and communication intentionally. To keep no one aware. Minnesota here we will be only people left by 2020 EOY.

My main issue is expectation that I will share my knowledge learned from doing my job with people who have been working in the same area but never actually learned anything on thier own. I am done with people who are not self motivated or simply not capable to learn. Why they decided to keep an entire offshore team who lack the skill to do anything and fire people who actually did work is a super example of what happens when you care only about money. I have come from being a contractor to united and got comfortable and forgot that when your a contractor, you bill for every hour worked. So you don't give your extra time and energy without compensation and they are just one customer. So this whole experience has just reminded me that I have control over what I do with the time I am being paid. And it will not be to "train" others to take my job. It reminds me of what they did to those tech workers who worked for Disney. Screw that.

Ooh oh pick me! Pay me! Pick a location, bring cash and I’ll tell ya the little that I know! I have no idea what the other person knows, but I sure can tell you a few! ....all the ways are unethical...so for one, Optum cheats! Gets money from Medicare regularly yet shouldn’t be. People our members don’t want the program yet the staff opt them in for better metrics and to ensure money flowing from Medicare

The worst possible thing you can have at Optum is angry employees. They have them. Many plan to sabotage from the inside now. It’s gonna get ugly in 2020. Why would employees sabotage their own jobs? Because you are damned if you do work hard and damned if you don’t...might as well share secrets from inside the company we know to competitors and let this company self distruct while we poison public opinion and give competitors info and assistance for side pay until we are ready to, in essence, jump out of the burning building....
