I always think it's funny when people claim that H1Bs are cheap. Not only are the visa fees and immigration attorneys (covered by Intel) extremely expensive. You also have whole streets in Santa Clara or San Diego where every house is owned by those "cheap" H1Bs.

It’s funny. In the public and unionized sector they complain about salary. Yet if you look at the total value they have in guaranteed pensions and last hired first fired policy (protection seniority) those jobs can actually be more lucrative. If I ever have an 18 year old son I would tell them to join the steam fitter union vs go to graduate school and work for a company that makes 60% gross margin but can’t find the means to treat talented employees fairly.

Good luck winning an age discrimination case against any corporation. They are in the pockets of politicians.

Very true. How can they keep pulling this kind of discrimination by hiring only cheap H1B RCGs when there are plenty of experienced engineers around? HR is pretty much non existent and has to keep quiet despite the complains from employees that try to fight back to this or other kind of abuse. :/
