What happens to Service Heroes?

Just curious about what happens with all the people who were just named Service Heroes. The summit isn't until March, but what happens if their position is eliminated or their department is downsized or moved offshore between now and then? Has anyone experienced this or known someone else who has? Would being named a Service Hero provide any level of job security, at least for a few more months? I'm just thinking through how that would play out and thought maybe someone here might know. Good luck to everyone and I hope we all find ourselves in better positions once we're on the other side of this crisis.

2015 Service Hero. Not a butt kisser actually polar opposite, very vocal about things that needed improvement at UHG. They make it a big deal Top 1$ of the company and the free trip to Disney was fun. HOWEVER..it means absolutely nothing when it comes to your career with UHG. Doesn't help with promotions, raises etc. I ended up leaving the company in 2021 after 10 years. I went to a new Managed care provider and received $20K more job offer. Ceo etc receiving multimillion dollar bonuses while front line nurses/employees receiving 1% raise.
Pay at UHG is very low and unless you keep your mouth shut and go with the management flow you WILL NOT get promoted. In reality Service Hero means nothing with UHG except a way for them to receive a tax right off.

hey i think those nominees are actually typically older staff. and yes they get picked on here first. a nominee or award is good thing. but older people over 40 don’t appear wanted here

No one's job is ever safe, no matter what you win or get nominated for or how long you've been here. It's all business. People get laid off at most major companies like UHC every single year. Become self employed if you can't stomach it.

Not a joke nor a butt kisser. I was a nominee. Several people liked how I trained so I got nominated. Be glad you aren’t a nominee or a winner. What it really means after it happens is because of good employee status and tenure, it just means next in line and prime target for being let go. Pray you don’t get nominated or win.

Service hero means nothing! If UHC wants you gone, you are gone!

Being nominated as a Super hero does not save you. I had 2 nominations and I still lost my postions. Being offer another position in lieu of being laid off depends on who you know.
