Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

The Purpose of the Big Boy is to distract the public from a corrupt and inept company

This story is just a few weeks old and my how things have already changed. Here's a quote from the article from a local town leader. “Union Pacific underestimated how many people would come to town to see the Big Boy. They were overwhelmed by the turnout and humbled by the appreciation our community showed.”

Two things about this quote:

1) UP is a logistics company. Underestimating demand sounds like poor forecasting on their part not something to brag about. In reality though they didn't underestimate anything they knew how many people wanted to come see this.

2) Humbled by the appreciation the community showed? LOL. They were SO humbled they are now SUING YOUR CITY to get out of a contract that stipulates they keep a percentage of your humble and appreciative citizens employed.

So, I hope everyone enjoyed the big boy.

Of course no one is thinking of the RR, until it quits moving all the c-ap they need...

Or a TIH/PIH car that has not had a decent inspection in months due to PSR cuts of carman, derails in their city.....and k–ls God knows how many.

No, no one cares. Kinda like no one cares about how their lungs work and their heart beats....until they ain't working as well any more....and then we take notice.

Ok. Thanks for the pep talk. A lot of people on here have gotten other jobs as well, so you’re not that special yourself lol. We still complain about the railroad and you’re on here too so kindly Fk off.

@Agreement guys (yes, guys, since you're all men):

The public doesn't care about UP, your jobs, or anything else that has to do with a railroad anywhere. The only time the public even thinks about any railroad is when they have to stop and wait for a train to pass by. You're just as important as you all think yourselves to be, and nobody anywhere will ever take up your cause.

If you don't like your job, do what many of us did a long time ago: get another one.

Make no mistake, despite any claims this is just another private business that can do whatever it wants, this company wasn't built without massive assistance from the US government in the form of free land grants and other incentives to build the nation's railroad system. If the incompetent leadership gets it in a hole, it will be the US taxpayer that once again foots the bill.
