Thread regarding UnitedHealth Group Inc. layoffs

Any UHC Layoff News?

I’m a telecommuter, but I’ve been told that as of January 2nd, they have to re-evaluate my ability to telecommute and I need to report to the office. I’ve also been told my PTO for that same week (that I always take) can likely not be approved. To me, it sounds like a layoff day is that week. There have been rumors circulating for a couple of years. I feel like the stability of our team is rocky at best, because no one understands what we do or finds the value in it. I doubt anyone would be honest if I asked directly. I think I need to live my life like it’s going to happen.

January more coming. They keep saying Feb and March in this site but I’m concerned that’s not the case. Thinking you are safe in a way makes you almost think you have to “keep your head down” and “stay out of trouble” but it’s all fear/lies. Please know for 2019 it’s monthly layoffs and terminations all year. This never happened as a monthly occurrence in 2018.. Check the website history and read it all from January 2019. They had layoffs and terminations then too and Jan 2020 will begin another year of this. If you prepare for it, you can get out and even if you end up getting let go from here but you were already looking for a job you at least have a head start...

I have telecommuting friends there and layoffs occurred in their departments yesterday - nurses and support staff. Sounds more are coming in the new year.
