Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Another negative article about Ford Transmissions - were the responsible people laid off???

Yet another article outlining the potential cost of the faulty transmissions.
The user comments reinforce the fact that this is a huge problem for Ford.
Does anyone know if the upper level managers responsible for this were part of SRD?

I read the article. I found it distressing. I had a flashback to being pressured to hide security violations and data leaks from auditors. The pressure started off with “persuasive” meetings and escalated to bullying, including keying my car with Snitch. The same game of lowering the threat level numbers was being played by LL6s, LL5 and LL4 so that red flags were not passed up the chain and they passed the audit.
At the time I thought it was an isolated incident with a few bad actors, the article tells me this type of behavior is wide spread in the company.
So glad to be out of the dysfunctional mess. And no, every company is not like this.

Small start, but still many more to go.

The "everybody knew" in this article is an understatement. In fact many involved have been promoted. Standard practice at Ford. The worse of a person you are, and willingness to hurt others, the higher you rise. Think this is bad, you have no idea the havoc current management is doing now. The SRD injected a level of terror that has never been seen before. Bad decisions are being made due to a level of incompetence that is mindboggling. Seasoned employees powerless to stop it have resigned themselves the only thing to be done is to document and lay down a paper trail of what is being done to hide and disguise current issues. To speak up is deemed to be against "The Dear Leader" and his "holy Design Thinking teachings", thou shall be promptly eliminated and replaced with a collage graduate. The Ford family and Board of Directors have their heads filled with the con game - and despite a dismal stock price, and quality issues, will do nothing to stop the impending train wreak.

Autos are terrible investment, well some are not, but the ones you and I can afford are. Buy used, look for good quality ratings, be handy, perform regular maintenance. You are correct, companies only care about shareholder value and CEO and board only care about themselves, getting rich AF.

Yes it is not about layoffs, but there is some cause and effect here that impacts the future.

Everyone should read the article as it is a prime example of what goes on in a big company - yes - even the Ford motor company. You may think you are working for a family, but you are working for shareholder value and high level execs that are protecting their bonus/next promotion, etc. They are all short term thinkers looking out for themselves. This will never change.

So go ahead and put your 50-60 hour work weeks in at the expense of your family, while supporting the Ford "family". Ever notice how many of the higher ups are divorced?

You folks most have a lot of time on your hands. :(

Transmission issues have been around Ford products for decades, I had a Sable that lasted 8 years before the trans went. They don't care. Just buy another new car! And they wonder why sales are down. When you pay THAT MUCH for a vehicle, you expect it to last for at least 100,000 miles with regular maintenance. Which is why I'll never buy a Ford again.
