Last Christmas at Sears and Kmart

Let's enjoy the last black Friday weekend at both stores because come next year most likely they will be gone for good.

All of the stores will be gone by 2020. Transformco will slip away, as well.

We are liquidating and between the vultures ripping the store apart and the reality that we will be starting the new year without a job it's been anything but enjoyable.

There's no other place to get a Toys R Us experience. It's a niche that's in demand and doesn't exist in the US market, but Toys R Us was k–led by its crippling debt it tooks in the aughts. No such demand exists for Sears, k–led by Eddie, and other companies already took all the demand for its product like Best Buy, Lowes, Home Depot, and of course Sears hasn't been in the running in softlines for a generation. The mattress format in small stores is already bankrupted multiple times for the market leaders like Mattress Firm and Mattress King. Leave it to Eddie to pursue strategies that have already failed, with worse execution.

Guam will be gone too. Big store but you still have to get them merchandise from a dc and have mainland support.

There is a big difference between the brand equity of Toys R Us vs Kmart and Sears Even in its last couple of years, customers could still go to Toys R Us and Babies R Us and expect to see a reasonable selection of merchandise. Not so for many years at Sears or Kmart, and with less than 200 half empty stores remaining, there is no such recent history.

In the US, but likely not in Guam.

I'm not too sure about your comment above. Sears/Kmart are USA brand names. Look at ToysRUs. They are now slowly (re)openning new stores. Sure, shopping online is easy and convenient but I think we also like to go into stores to see and touch and feel and try on and convenient returning right at the store or exchange. I think stores will come back after we get tired of shopping online. Human behaviour changes from generation to generation. Just as an example - if you watch TV, you'll notice people have started to wear those big framed glasses that go down half way to your cheek. I pulled a pair out from my parents closet that are 25+ years old. Same eyeglass frames that were in fashion 25+ years ago..
