Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Thank You to whoever posted this. REAL LEADERSHIP

This deserves it's own thread. Yet the rvps and dms continue to push this insanity. They’re not in the real world. Real leaders would step up and stop the madness. They are just followers. How do they even sleep at night with zero integrity, by pushing those metrics. It’s beyond sad

I'm sure they are going to get nice little severance packages too when it's all over so they're going to follow protocol and pretend everything is business as usual until the very end you wouldn't want to risk losing your severance package this late in the game

Back in the day store managers had more say in how the store was run and the DM was there to assist them and help them with ways to make the store better, now their main job is to micromanage store metrics and follow uniform orders to give stores on how they should be, so if they don't hound stores about metrics they're not doing their job

Corporate type people, like DM’s, RM’s and VP’s, tend to be out of touch with reality, and even more out touch with reality on the ground, down at the store level. They will tell you Sears/Kmart is actually a Fortune 500 company, and then blame you that the only reason the ship is sinking is because you didn’t meet the metrics and numbers corporate expects out of the store. Knowing full well those metrics/numbers are unrealistic, and impossible to meet.

Just a few positives words in this turbulent of times would be a nice change. But they don't give a sh– about being nice and how hard anyone's works. They think their only job is to be as nasty and unhelpful as possible.

If you regional managers are being told that you shouldn't substitute items for online orders because it makes customers unhappy, and you still are pushing your people to do it anyway, you are in fact part of the problem.

It doesn’t cost anything to be nice. It doesn’t cost anything to be kind. It doesn’t cost anything to be honest. It doesn’t cost anything to say “Hey, you’re doing a good job, keep it up!” These higher-ups could learn a thing or two on how to treat employees, because “encouraging” people through fear and intimidation is wrong on soooo many levels.

No positive comments. No thank you's. The associates bust butt to keep their store's looking good with what they have to work with and get nothing in return. The pats on the back are from store level and not higher ups. Just go through the motions and fake it along till the announcement of closing comes.

LOL HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

If any of that were true, they would be straight up honest with store staff and tell them the company will be closing all brick and mortar retail operations at the latest June 2020 and tell them to start looking for other employment so they can get recommendation letters to those who need them before the final liquidation process begins.

A few of them are “Lifers” , so working hard to get to where they are, I am not so sure about ..they came up through the ranks. Yes, they are following policy, but they are so negative and cold when visiting the stores...nothing positive.

All of the RVP's and DM's are in place because they have to be at a place like Sears. They're not smart enough or good enough at what they do to be at company that's actually trying to move forward. All they can be is what they are at a company like Sears. Once the ship finally sinks, they'll be off to find another company in trouble or selling used cars.
