Thread regarding Sears layoffs

We are in a free fall, people

The end is literally at hand. We cannot say no to a web order, but our inventory is so bad that we have to constantly substitute a "similar" item. Our store manager will be gone in a few days. People are quitting left and right, and I joined the ranks of those who have had enough of the BS and quit. I've never seen so much chaos and confusion.

Yet the rvps and dms continue to push this insanity. They’re not in the real world. Real leaders would step up and stop the madness. They are just followers. How do they even sleep at night with zero integrity, by pushing those metrics. It’s beyond sad

We're going to be super strict about unachievable metrics and pretend we don't catch on to everyone trying to cheat the system so our numbers look good , this is how Sears runs their stores

Oh and did anyone else learn the “cancel as customer request” trick lol. If you selected that option for the cancel reason it did not count against your metrics. We would call the customer, let them know it wasn’t in stock and it would be canceled, then cancel customer request. Corp started asking questions after awhile because the number skyrocketed so we had to stop. Oh well lol

We are told DAILY, that you are not to say "No" to an order.... "Find it!" We are suppose to call our DM if we are going to say "No." They are only doing what they are being told by the RVP. Our inventories are so off, but we have stores at 98,99,100%. Thats impossible.
Corporate say's one thing and then we get told another........... The plight of Sears!

But when exactly will final end be? I think the next round of closings will not be last. I think some stores will survive into 2020. How many I don't know.

Field management is terrible. I can’t think of the number of times that Hoffman IR personnel made it clear that if a store doesn’t have an item, it should say “no” so that it will pass on to a store with the item, but all the field management cares about is hitting metrics.

I've seen a lot of angry reviews from people who were deliberately sent the wrong item just to satisfy this company's id–tic vision of "integrated retail."
