The store in South Portland, ME has its tot section 100% wiped out and emptied. Are they cutting the department? If so, what a stupid idea.

They are selling the Pet Rocks from the 70's.
They are sending all the toys to the liquidating stores. Our toy dept is overflowing with full endcaps and at least ten quads. When you start liquidating you get tons of stuff, just wait.
Part of the plan to "move forward" has been to eliminate things that are generally considered "hard lines". That includes toys and such.
They are hanging on to mattresses like that will somehow save the company, and it won't. But they sure won't let go of that and don't appear to have any plans to.
All of this is, obviously, assuming that the "moving forward" plan was legitimate in the first place. I don't believe it was or is.
no supplier would commit to them 6 months ago. The credit was too risky . It isn't a stupid idea. It is a lack of inventory.
The toy section at my Sears store is being eliminated. It's quickly dwindling.
They are cutting the company. What do you expect?
The Kmart that's closing near me still has plenty of toys
