Any word on layoffs this week?

Sounds to me like you should be the one getting the life - or another job.

I posted those numbers at the beginning of this thread to show how id–tic this has become. No one with any power in the company will be posting on here to announce anything upcoming. This is a layoff board, not a constant beat down board of the LR5. Those that continuously post doom and gloom just have nothing else in life. Just quit the speculation, the fear mongering and the scare tactics to those of us who rely on WS to give us a paycheck....it is hard enough without the negativity of the few on this board without a life. IF you truly hear something, know someone...got someone drunk and they spill the beans...post it..otherwise just save it

If we are selling off the CLEC business who would buy it?
I know that Netflix, Google, and Facebook had interest in the transport but not the voice/data portion of the business.
Would they just sell off the customers to the highest bidder.
No layoffs this week. Our company, run by accountants, have ways of keeping us afloat by manipulation. Uncle Tony will see us still working........ To death.
I was told a month ago that week 3 of January was going to be another slaughter.
The warn act here in NY needs 1 business days notice. They are publicly posted here:
https://labor.ny.gov/app/warn/
It's been my experience that they are posted at the end of the business day not to
gain unwanted attention. Nothing posted today, I'll check back after 5PM.

Staying under 50 per site wont be difficult when 7000 people work from home.
There is usually a layoff before these cheerleading calls.
any major layoff triggers the warn act 60 days prior to letting someone go. Unless they have figured out a loophole, any layoff has to be under 50 people per site within 30 days (excluding temp workers, workers employed for less than 6 months, and if the number they pick to let go is less than 1/3 of the workers at a site) or they have to give notice.
You got it half right. They are going to announce
that they are exiting the CLEC business. They have been shopping
it around for awhile now. I am guessing that they found a buyer
and are selling it for pennies on the dollar.
So yes they will indirectly announce layoffs. If they company is
sold then the LR5 can keep their promise that WIN won't layoff any
employees but the new buyer will.
Even if it doesn't add up - somethings' gotta give
Wow, we only employ around 12,000 employees and we are going to let
upto 15,000 go this month!
I get it sometimes Math is hard!
Well you can't say you didn't see it coming....Good Luck!
i heard around 8,000 being let go this week...another 4-5000 next week and another 2500 the week after
