Thread regarding Schlumberger Ltd. layoffs

I just reviewed my SLP3 with my boss

and have a "need for improvement" grade. this is the 3rd time I've received this grade in 4 years. Should I be worried?

LOL you are probably safe compared to the ones that exceeded expectations!

SLB is a company that will preach safety, safety, and more safety. HSE Posters everywhere, 26 Standards that all evolve around safety. Excellent Safety Team, but at the end of the day, HSE is not a direct billable (is indeed indirect), and when shares come down, restructuring starts on HSE. Listen Up SLB, You have performed excellent like never before and it was all due to the integral involvement of the HSE Department. Do not cry wolf, when your TRIF and your AARM start skyrocketing and operators start looking at your safety records. You are leaving employees homeless even when you preach team building.

almost 8 years in Cheyenne USA, 2018 SLP3 was never completed, but all of the rest from 2012 - 2017 were Exceeds expectations. Got cut Feb 28th, 2020 before my 2019 review

Experienced little more than 2 days to enter self evaluation and submit for review. No quarterly reviews to steer performance.
Is this workplace condition experienced elsewhere?

SLP-3 is a similar to the 'star of the class' they have at my 3 years old school class! Should see him beam with pride when he gets that sticker!

The SLP3 counts for nothing if your name is on the list to go. It won't save you if its a good one and if its a bad one, or just average, it will be used against you. What is more important is what is on your SLP1 if you are a so called "hi pot". You never ever get to see that one, and its never discussed. A negative SLP1 will effectively k–l your career, although it might take a few years to realize something is not right (ie) you find yourself being "passed over". If you get that feeling trust me, time to pack up and leave before the inevitable happens, especially if you are approaching the critical 15 year mark.

Wont get slp3 done till last minute and will be the same generic c-ap.with true slb thought and ingenuity that helps them destroy who they buy. Goodluck all move on to bigger better things .

The first time I got a. “Exceeds expectations” for the full year, I got laid off 2 months later in the same role. Maybe “needs improvement” gets you promoted.

I would ask for a raise since clearly lack of motivation and lack of a salary increase over the last 4 years have caused employees to underperform.
Don't be shy and ask for a 25% increase.

It mean nothing, my coworker got layoff six months after they reeard him employ of the month. If they dont want you, they dont want you. Ton of reason to get you out

Well the question to you is do you need to improve? Most managers will be straight forward with you and if improvements are needed then there is your answer. Best of luck
