Another round of packages''

Central Florida again receives packages, well this area has been hit hard the last 3-4 go around's... There are actually areas here that are run soley by contractors. Management telling peeps they should stick it out for seniority and bigger payout . Id like to remind you in this area of Florida your contract expires March 31st of this year....yep its that time.remember that the last 2 contracts d–g out over a year each with no back pay just those "Bonuses" Contract.....how many are still in the union? are you over the 50 percent? will the company even come to the table on contract? will they drag out again? or maybe they have the upper hand with all that have left? keep this in mind not to mention i get messages and e-mails EVERY DAY from 3 companies looking to put people in CTL areas for UNITS—this close to contract if you have been thinkin about it? maybe take it now—without the contract? the VSPP Bonus cash is MOOT you wont get it tread lightly brothers and sisters this is a pivotal time

The AOM Patty has been trying to make deals with certain guys in the area. She told one of the guys in my group if he would strip down to nothing but a tool belt and dance for her he could keep his job no matter what. Offered him the ole 5 knuckle shuffle while he was in the office. It’s getting bad out there when s e x u a l favors are used to help keep your job.

It wasn’t just FL that got hit over a week ago. PA too. Non-union. I’m one of them. Many others, not just us.

Contracts expire ? contracts don't help if they eliminate the jobs ? I know they been working so hard for you the last few contracts ? If your contract is expired and you don't have the required men they do not have to honor anything in the right to work states?....

Your post makes it seem like You don’t know much about the union or how labor contracts work.

another thing to consider is if you are union and are under contract there is a sizable amount of cash agreed upon that is included in these packages—as long as contract is valid you get the cash twenty six k —if you lose your contract? they do not have to honor that –possibly if your in negotiations they keep you on old contract—but if you are in an area thats dropped below the cut off on union members they can discontinue union representation in your area—and then its no dice— and you can be assured that level three would love to get out from under all the pension –makes it far easier to off-load in the future

For those who don't have an offer in front of them, I know it's all fun and games and seems like it should be an easy decision, but really it's not.

One thing I never took into consideration was the cost of healthcare to reach 65. Yes, Wise Connect has offered me a job, probably my job to be exact as a contractor as soon as I leave. Same money but NO benefits.

This is the second offer in two years. I said no last year. The writing is on the wall. The SRO basically said, if you want to leave with a package, you better take this one. So what do you?

Take the package and go to a guaranteed job? Stay and take the chance you can squeeze another year closer 65 out of this sinking ship? I need 4 more years and I know there is no way it can last that long, so the logical choice seems like taking the package and figure out how to pay for healthcare.
