Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Disorganized Billion Dollar “Company”

Our last paycheck should be for 4 days! Last day 1/2/20? They paid us for the full two weeks till 1/10/20....THEN sent an email for permission to TAKE BACK the over payment! I’ve never worked for such a disorganized and horrible company in my life!!!!!!

They probably fired the person in the office who did all the real work and kept some person who didn't know anything... the decisions to eliminate people generally have not a lot of thought I have noticed.

The mailed a copy of my paycheck stub. Not only did they take out my purchased PTO, they also took out money for my health care spending account. Neither that I will be able to use! When I spoke to HR they said "I'll have to escalate this to see if it can be reimbursed". This was after I had been cold transfered and had to re explain my situation 3 times! No one knows what's going on. These middle top leaders... wow. Amazes me at the business descisions made. So many good employees gone!

Are you sure it’s not 40hrs of PTO?

My last day was 1/2 also, but got paid for 2 weeks like normal, minus 1/3. The Jan 10 paycheck is for Dec 23-Jan 3, 9 work days since the 3rd is not counted (which is 90% of the work days, 9/10=90%). My last direct deposit was just a little over 90% of my normal pay, which is correct. They also paid out my severance on the 10th, which ended up being only 65% after taxes and included a week of pto.

That is very strange. It is not like they have not had to deal with pay cycles in a new year for hourly or contract workers before. Though they seem to struggle quite a bit with start of January PTO etc.
