Thread regarding National Oilwell Varco Inc. layoffs

TGIF 2020

Good morning all. This is the first TGIF of 2020. Hoping all had a wonderful holiday.
Normally start by requesting a kickball chant by Malls-cop to get our day going but this time going to bypass it because it needs to stay gloomy so someone can open their eyes, wake up and make some serious changes around here. No real big rig, capital or parts sales in the near horizon,,, there's not even any good gossip by Malls. Its very depressing and we need some changes please.
So if anyone is listening what can we do to better the situation?
Have a great Friday. Good golf or good internet surfing if officing indoors.

Seems so obvious but I guess they are blind. Blind to their own ignorance. When this company is ran by a bunch of Varco dotards it is bound to fail. Even Tuboscope was smart enough to get rid of a useless morainic mall cop but he got lucky and ended up with his daddy Englishman. A group VP that has always been a joke. The Scotsman needs to man up and start being a leader not congratulate malls for running him over...wake up Gee.

I thought I just saw extra security in the building but it turned out to be a Mall Cop with his tan sports cape coasting on his Segway. Probably hitting the floors early to get out all the good gossip. Everyone have a great Friday and hope there are no layoffs.

Do we actually have people here? The tower has been empty ever since we moved in 2016. Not just literally but also empty of strategy...empty of thought...empty of smart leaders...empty of team players...empty of the spirit that made this company. In other words...Varco at its best.
When we keep mall patrolling this tower with these unqualified people...then...maybe then...we will turn it around. In the meantime, best of luck to the good ones.

Rumor is next lay-off is before the earnings call. This will happen at this time because the Elf can mention more reductions as cost reductions, he thinks (The Street Loves This).... and it means no bonus checks for these people. I say bonus checks yep!!! My HR contacts tell me their will be bonus checks. All the Right People are in place to fudge the numbers enough and do those imaginary write downs (Thank Goodness for that hand picked leader with that Tech Education, he knows how to fudge the overstock numbers). This is important for Mr. Personality to cheat the system for the Elf. Al of this is at the direction of The Englishman. Sorry for the sad news to you guys, when I hear more from my HR contact I will let you know.

These rig guys crack me up. All the people who actually sold rigs and equipment were pushed out and now they are struggling (shocker). As our, errrrrr, great President loves to say....the equipment will sell itself...UHHHH no it won't genius lol.

Regardless if the customer doesn't want them, its all about SELLING. Everyone has heard the expression, 'he can sell ice to an eskimo' same scenario here. If these guys knew how to sell or even knew the product, that would not be an issue. And when you have VPs and Directors that have no sales strategy and rather play in office politics/gossiping...nothing gets sold. Thank goodness for backlog but that will all come to an end eventually.

To sell rigs you have to sell rigs that companies want. We sell rigs we want to sell & wait for people to buy them. So no rigs are sold!

Yes its sad. We need leaders that can lead, managers that can manage and salesman that can sell.
Plants are being shut down because of these people. Meanwhile, other vendors seem to be getting orders (i.e. Drillmec 27 rigs) to keep their people working.
We are supposed to be the leaders in the industry and yet nothing, not even enough for GP to stay open. This is not rocket science folks. Its in plain view. Its broken. SAD.
