Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

Rochester office

Does anyone know why the company invested to add more space on the3rd floor at the Midtown location? Seems like wasted money and lots of it. The building is half empty with plenty of room for all on 1st and 2 nd floor. Not too mention so many people with a desk working from home. The company is paying for parking for those who work from home to the tune of about 85.00 monthly. WHY ARE SOME ALLOWED TO WORK FROM HOME AND OTHERS ARE FORCED TO COME IT??? Why is the company paying for parking for those who are remote???? Please make sense of this someone.

I heard Rochester and Greenville are the only safe offices. King of Prussia in PA is on the chopping block. They gutted most of that legacy broadview crew thru layoffs so there isnt much left in that office. They never even took the broadview sign down to put up a windstream sign.

Are you sure that space isn’t going to be used for another competing spinoff, with Richard blank as the ceo?? Probably called gunderstream and will only sell to rural customers at the taxpayers expense!!

Its up to the management as to if you can work from home or not.

When I left a few years ago Windstream was storing their broken down vehicles at a site where they were charging $275/month for parking. Windstream had 10+ vehicles stored there for 5yrs or so......money is NO object lol

When we were PAETEC Arunas made a deal with the City / State for free parking
when they built the building. We got 10 years of free parking, I am sure that will be up soon.

We closed out the Monroe ave office to save on real estate. We saved $2M by doing so. Building out the 3rd floor was to displace those who were in that office. Since the time that decision was made other changes have been made affecting headcount. We even built out offices for 2 VP's that are no longer with the company. I think some of this is for show and looking good to the public and media. On paper we have more employees that sq feet. Some people were given the option to work from home on a permanent basis and others were allowed an office. Alot of people also work flex time in and out of the office , I don't think they took that into consideration. A major portion of the 1st floor is going to become available in the near future.
