Two of the people quoted were from my shop on NS. 250+ down to 127 in 6 months! Sad times for everyone! NS has cut at least 12% of agreement and management personnel and it’s barely moved the OR needle with carload volume falling. They are playing a losing game and labor reduction isn’t going to solve their problems. No one supports their pump and dump get rich quick scheme. Hang in there this can’t last forever!

Well anyone who was optimistic prior to reading this article...should read and re read. People this industry is about to be over. If you have less than 20yrs seniority you need to have your resume updated and start now and push it out there. 2020 is going to be a lot worse, WE CANNOT count on our unions to do anything. 59% needs to be 55%, understand that 4-5% means multi millions in savings. MANY MORE CUTS WILL HAPPEN! I urge you to start looking elsewhere, our unions or this company don’t give a ship about you! Realize that!
