Thread regarding Aetna layoffs

There is constant complaining about so much work.

I'm in a building where there are complaints on a daily basis. Openly talking out loud. These people work from home also but show up for most of the week. If there is so much pressure to get down the work, why don't they just do their best and not worry about it. I have been here a long time now and it is constant. I understand they have financial reason for staying and working, but at a certain point you stop the complaining or just leave. This is in a corporate building in the san fernando valley, but that is all I'll say. There is an Anthem on the same building, so why not try and get something there, since it is in the same building. It seems they have better areas for eating and relaxing at least.

Aetna doesn't care at all about hiring U.S. citizens as employees! There are more aliens working in IT at Aetna than anywhere else. The only number that matters at Aetna is ROA -return on investment !

I also wanted to add, at least I didn't see mostly 2 year visa H1 b foreign workers there. I have worked at places where I have seen that, after they laid off american workers. However they could have been using those workers and outsourced workers at other locations. I just didn't view any of that going on here, from what I could see.

I agree with your statement. I think the way I wrote it didn't sound right. I meant they could at least try seeking other employment or doing something else. I know it isn't easy, but what is really.

It’s appropriate to complain. And loudly. When you are treated poorly, it causes problems and I suspect the volume will only intensify. It is at all insurance companies across the board. Those who earn the big bucks need to deal with the former unhappy and now raging employee workforce they have. But they found their solution - so layoffs. So complaining is all we have. We are stuck and know our days are limited. Attempts to silence negativity never work...because no one here is addressing the problems. But to those who rule above us with big salaries, they are happy so they could care less about the little people and what’s happening to the regular worker and how limited our choices are and how stuck we really feel. Simply miserable...

My apologies, I meant to say "we" work from home also. I didn't want to sound somewhat crude there to my fellow workers.
