Be positive - at least Mr Miller got his $3.4 M “gift” on Dec. 5.

Keep up the hard work so more than just 8 people get it next time.

At least one poster is being honest about the situation, the economy etc.
I guess we are supposed to be stagnant in our earnings while the rest of the economy passes us by.
Sounds like Stockholm syndrome to me.

BEWARE OF PROMISES

I don’t even know what focal point is but if it’s a cost of living adjustment raise, well remember that Halliburton is swirling down the drain so any raises and bonuses will be going to management and nobody else

The economy is booming still. The average worker received a 5% pay increase in the last year. Wages are increasing higher than inflation for the 1st time in about 25 years. If they decide to not give anything they may be shocked at how many old timers decide to finally cash in on that retirement they’ve been delaying for 5 years. If 30% of your workforce at any given location walks away what do you do then? My guess is they still do have one but it will be 2% or some other joke of a raise just to save face.

Back in 2002 and 2008 we missed focal point for a couple of years. So the way it looks now don't count on it.

Love the compassion both ways really... one from the OP and the other that is ready to have his compatriot tossed out so he can keep his.
Happy Holidays!

To even ask this question should automatically qualify you for the next list

It depends on how the company/industry is doing. If lay-offs are still happening, and competitors are in the same boat, it won't happen. It will only happen if things pick up to the point that they feel it is needed as a retention tool. They may even delay the decision until later in the year.

Some of us still think we deserve raises, the thought doesnt jive with reality.

Why worry about focal point right now? Let see if we make to q2 first.
