UP’s Glassdoor CEO rating of 9% comparison

only including other companies I wouldn’t want to work for either to make it fair. As you can see an approval rating of 9% is a whole new level of awful and is why UP is ranked the worst company in America to work for.

CEO Approval ratings:

Liberty Tax Service 93%
Waste Management 82%
McDonald’s 73%
IRS 72%
Burger King 59%
BNSF 57%
Dollar General 41%
Jiffy Lube 41%
Kmart 29%

True. I was in Omaha recently and you can tell the attitude towards UP has changed from one of admiration to disdain.

When I was in Omaha 20 years ago, I never heard anyone say anything but great things about UP. I said I thought of applying to UP and a long time Omaha resident said, “good luck”. One of my adjunct professors worked for UP and told us if you wanted to work for UP, you better know someone who can get you an interview. Few people get in and even fewer ever leave. Now Omaha people hear of UP and the first responses are either, “they’re going through rough times” and “they lay people off a lot”.

Silly troll. They matter plenty. It is why entire classes of managers quit within the first three years. It’s why UP can’t get quality applicants. It’s why UP has the reputation it does.

I don’t think these stats really matter. In many areas UP is a high paying job, regardless of how c-appy it is, no matter how c-appy the treat their employees.
