A DM has decided to make his stores stay open till 7p on Christmas Eve. He first wanted it to be 8p.
Said that the whole Region was doing that. That's a lie. Its one District. Its an absolute shame that this person has no respect or regard to the employees that work tireless hours away from their families. This person obviously has no knowledge of what Christmas Eve means to so many families, especially the Hispanic. Just one of the most disrespectful things that can be done. I hope the DM is home with his family at 7-8p on Christmas Eve.....

Staying open longer hours won't save the company. Those DMs will get their pick slips very soon.
Ir would be one thing if that last few hours sales was profitable and the employees were being paid big bucks for those hours worked.
You do realize the the Dm's get incentive pay for every dollar that their district brings in over a corporate mandated number, right? So every hour gets them closer or even over the goal. They are just using you to line their pockets and make more money. Welcome to the real world.
We were open until 10 on Christmas Eve when I first started at Kmart. I remember hearing one year some guy was desperate enough to get in right as the doors were being locked that the service desk guy convinced him to pay $20 to get in. Of course this was back when we still had stuff like actual electronics, video games, a photo lab, etc.
10pm... That must be on the Kmart side because that has never been on the Sears side.
