Thread regarding Mattel Inc. layoffs

Mattel PLM

PLM was an enormous waste of time for Mattel.

Who forced that stupid system on Mattel and benefited from it.

All the people who pushed that bunk, are gone.

They raised Mattel IP then drove it into the ground.

Mattel management was infamous for not listening to their designers (or customer feedback) and allowing marketing to do all the dictating.

They've never cared about toys.

They got rid of PLM and replaced it with something called D3. Digital Development and Design or something along those lines. No one really knows how it works or what it's supposed to do.

PLM is still around? I thought it would've died by now, with brands giving up on it and reverting to past practices.

It was a horrible application; despite being an Oracle app, it didn't communicate to other platforms, even to other Oracle programs. It only caused repetitive work in my experience.

whatever happened to the image library that ES put so much money into and created “data librarians” to catalog images and tag them for easy access? is that still up & running?

PLM a ridiculous time waster? Agreed. All supporters fled? Bu11$h1+. Goodman was the biggest proponent of PLM and he's STILL THERE pulling down a huge salary. He's an id–t with far more failures than successes on his rap sheet. His presence there is a slap in the face to all the good people who have been laid off due to his stupidity. Mattel is corrupt, inbred inmates run the asylum, the culture is toxic and it fully deserves to crash & burn. Barbie, Hot Wheels & FP will survive to be sold off. The rest? LET IT GO.
