Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Why is Ford's lineup so dated looking?

For example, the Fusion looks pretty much the same as it did back in 2012, which was during Obama's first term in office by the way. What's going on? How can we be expected to compete with such dated looking vehicles? Thoughts?

Probably need some younger leadership, people who welcome change and innovation and aren't obsessed with doing things the way they always were done or profiting short term for themselves without regards to future generations/workers.

If you look at Toyota they welcome change/innovation and properly vet out strategies making sure plans are feasible 10 years down the road instead of 10 minutes down the road. Ford offsprings/execs just want to get as much cash as they can before they retire.

Fusion looked so good and sold so well that it's still a worthy competitor today. Imagine if Ford has kept Fusion upto date instead of quitting the sedan business entirely, which IMHO is a s–c-dal move. Fad of trucks and suvs will die out.

Same old story - come out with a new vehicle, do minor freshenings for years (for which non-employees can't tell the difference), let the marketing die out for them, and ten plus years later replace the vehicle.

Look at Expedition/Navigator - prior to the new model, the old one was dragged along for ten plus years.

Great way to run a company.
