Thread regarding Aetna layoffs

Lies Lies Lies

No layoffs for at least a year post-CVS deal closure was the public statement. Deal closed in September 2019. Layoffs have been constant. Lies, lies, and more lies. No one is being fooled here.

There are rumors that the woodland hills california branch will close. There are few people coming in during the week and a lot do remote so they don't come in part of the week. I worked there a long time and it was the worst experience I have ever had. Just awful how people treated each other there. Very rude and extremely unpleasant at all times there.

I was laid off Nov 2019. Same position title posted. Why couldn't they just place me in that and train me?! I was with Aetna 15 years!!

I was laid off in 2019, but not given salary continuation as outlined in "Since You're Leaving Aetna."
Management lied in order to avoid paying what was due me. Very poor oversight.

EEOC and 1967 law against age discrimination likely the only thing to staunch the greed here. It doesn't help when an entire department is wiped out, but a couple of EEOC lawyers asking for statistical analyses to prove that they did not discriminate against those 40+ would hit the pause button.

I too was laid off. This in my opinion is about lower salaries. My division also added some new positions but didn’t hire any of the very qualified employees that were let go. After those were let go even more positions were posted. Again, those of us that were let go were told we didn’t align with the job descriptions but were not told or shown the job descriptions. Management never considers the cost of training and on boarding new hires, not to mention the revolving door of team members consistently leaving. Yet, many of the employees that were let go had long history of employment with Aetna approximately 10 plus years.
