Has it been confirmed?

To the “Bloody Wednesday “ poster - don’t borrow from a horrible tragedy. You lost your job in a time of record unemployment, not your life during a decades long struggle.

Yes Lay offs started on 11/6. In the meeting we had yesterday 11/6 we where told if we are on the call we are safe for the rest of the year. So I'm pretty sure more lay offs to come in Feb 2020 before annual reviews

Letters/Phone Calls/Meetings will begin 10/28/19. The information will include benefit, pay and severance information. The final date of employment will be set roughly 2 weeks out from this date. This is not for any specific division or entity. This will involve several different departments across the organization.

Greensboro NC employees were laid off in September. They supported Quest Diagnostics billing. The jobs were sent to Puerto Rico. It was about 15 employees who were terminated.

What areas and offices in Optum going to be impacted on 11/6 and what number of people will this impact? Does this include telecommuters? Without any specifics from your sources how do we know if Optum is laying off 100 or 10,000 people?

If the layoff is 11/6, do salaried workers get paid for that whole week?

terminations is the latest, you know I got a call from them the other day stating they were with career assistance. What a joke career assistance ? they just assisted me into UN-employment at my age no one is going to hire me, are you kidding me. Just another square that legal has advised them to fill to try and avoid an EEOC or legal issue. What a joke this is an and insult to my intelligence, oh by the way its not free you have to pay for it, My Lord when will they stop beating me up.

Things must be bad here if we are resorting to calling people names. Seems like a legit question to ask. I have been with Optum for over 10 years and everyone on here is concerned about losing their jobs. We shouldn't call people names for just asking for more information.

What an id–t we wouldn't be here if the info wasn't legit, get off the site and go back to your fake core values, You think people here have not been affected or they would just jump on here and post for no reason.

Hey curious one: Don't you think HR employees and assistants to execs have a clue what's going to happen? Can't lay off 100's of employees without preparation and planning. I don't know who's posting, but I don't doubt that there are plenty of people in the know, and I thank them for not letting us be blind sided. What brought you to this site??

Hon, the earnings are good because they no longer have to pay all those salaries.

I do not see, nor believe, how UHC and Optum would be laying people off! Just look at the positive earnings report they did this morning. It makes zero sense they would do that. Seems to me people on here are creating quite a bit of misinformation to create problems.

Lol, this site brings out the paranoia for sure. This is Mr really curious and I do work for this company but not to monitor it. I see people post dates of when terminations will happen and was just curious how they are privy to that info. Wasn’t or expect them to name names of who they got the info from. Just more so if the info is legit.

It does not stop at Grade 30. There are Grade 31 and above on the list. No one is safe.

Yes, UHC is supposedly impacted, too. And UHG Corporate I think.

Confirmed- November 6th is the next termination day. Will impact grade levels all the way up to grade 30. Another round is also set for early February 2020. This is across nearly all divisions of Optum.

Listen Folks these are not layoffs, you are not going back to work at anytime with this company these are terminations, Your job is being shipped overseas to contract workers who they think can do what you for for 1/3 of what you get paid and no benefits, This company is destroying peoples lives with lies of placement followed by phony documents to send your skills in so you can be assimilated into there business model. Their business model does not include american workers, Do not sign any thing they send you if you have any hope of recourse Of filing anything against them, they have been lieing to us all and their legal team has been working on F_ing us for years.
