Apple will put intel employees through training and evaluation. There are no guarantees for Munich employees as well. Apple will fire status reporters (read Infineon people).

Yes, but it was never stated how many people will be laid off as part of this deal.
I basically says:

Intel wants to sell part of its wireless chip division to Apple. Now the group is looking for "placement options" for other employees of the area...
...the jobs in Nuremberg and Duisburg are likely to be at risk .
The buy was announced in July, along with info that about 2200 Intel employees affected by this will join Apple.
