If you are connected to the intranet: https://hub.uhg.com/sites/hub/assets/HumanCapitalDocuments/Hiring-Employment/Severance-Summary-Plan-Description.pdf
Optum pays the same severance that UHC does. But if your job moves from UHC to Optum, you haven’t been laid off, so you won’t get severance.
It looks like by UHC rolling everyone into optum may have been for the sole purpose of avoiding paying severance pay, is this true. It appears Optum may not participate in the program.
Search severance pay on The Hub. The plan description document has the benefits by salary grade and years of service. There is no minimum years of service to get severance. For a grade 20-26 who has been with the company 0-3 years, the severance is 3 weeks.
