Thread regarding Gulfstream Aerospace layoffs

Noticeable patterns???

I asked HR about the WARN and was told it does not apply to us because of a percentage thing.

I do know for a fact that it’s not been a percentage for all areas across the board.

Some areas got 10% others 30%.

The only noticeable pattern is engineering is taking a huge hit.

The WARN doesn’t apply if severance package is beyond the minimum day period. The loophole that major Corp loves.

GD earnings isn't until the 23rd of this month. That makes the rest of what you say suspect...

Tomorrow the carnage begins in large numbers. They want to spread it over a few days to ease the load.
Managers told mot to take time off this week. They are needed to escourt employees off the property.
Min severance payout will be 12 weeks
GD earnings out tomorrow. Expected to be bad because of Gulfstream debacle

WARN says 500 laid off in a 30 day period, but there has to be a 60-DAY WARNING per that document.

That's why the press report said 600 contractors and 500 employees.

common y'all someone else already posted the link and it spells it out:
Mass Layoff: A covered employer must give notice if there
is to be a mass layoff which does not result from a plant
closing, but which will result in an employment loss at the
employment site during any 30-day period for 500 or more
employees, or for 50-499 employees if they make up at least
33% of the employer’s active workforce.

It has to be more than 1/3 of the company to be affected by warn.
