Thread regarding Gulfstream Aerospace layoffs

Any updates?

Does anyone have any projected numbers or any information in general? I know corporate came into town. What’s the decision?

"HR says....." in my experience something requiring "knowledge" they're rarely worth a dam and don't know their arse from a hole in the ground

I asked HR about the WARN and was told it does not apply to us because of a percentage thing. I do know for a fact that it’s not been a percentage for all areas across the board. Some areas got 10% others 30%. The only noticeable pattern is engineering is taking a huge hit.

The 60 day thing is for 500+ but there's something else about a form with department of labor for terminating 25+ on the same day for the same reason. Gulfstream is on the WARN site for both 2009 and 2015 big layoffs and both were listed as affecting between 300-350 employees. I don't know if the 25+ form is what's posted but history has it that they inform the state as at least some form of CYA. I'm guessing it'll go on the state site near same time as the cannings are happening but if you're obsessively checking this site for updates you might as well look at the other.

A WARN notice is not always required. When it is - a 60-day notice is required. Don't base your hope on whether Gulfstream posts a WARN notice to the GA website.

It’s all upsetting. HR has the task of letting folks go only knowing afterwards they are next. I feel for all and hope they find other employment.

Nothing on the Georgia dept of labor site yet about Gulfstream (https://www.dol.state.ga.us/public/es/warn/searchwarns). Kellogg, Nestle, Cox, and others already have their paperwork in regarding layoffs later in the month/year so GAC HR may still be deciding how deep to cut.

I won’t believe the actual date until I see it. Too many rumors.

10-15% full time employees cut (at least 1000 full timers)
Starts this week Wednesday.
HR blocked auditorium from Wednesday....
Get ready, this will be ugly....
