For any inexperienced cloud migrant the cloud cost and reliability is going to be a problem sooner not later since cloud residency requires cloud native commitment both for cost and reliability. Lift and shift architecting is going to be severely disappointing first with reliability and then with cost overruns.
Ha! Never heard them ever mention cloud costs being a problem at Macy’s. And to come up with a “breakthrough” AI technology for it? If it wasn’t even identified as a problem at Macy’s, how could they have come up with a “patent pending” solution? Unless they magically made something appear in the few months after they got laid off.
By that logic, a person should steal or commit immoral deeds if there is no law enforcement or if they don’t believe in a higher power? That is a reflection on the person more than anything else.
If the HR / Management culture allows people to collect fat paycheck without any transparent tech accountability then people will naturally take advantage of this gap.
Sounds like a total scam. Having worked with both of them, I can confidently say that they’re incapable of doing whatever they’re pitching. They were pretty much ghosts at Macy’s, collecting fat paychecks but almost never seen or involved in their teams.
Agree – it is funny. Typically this kind of maneuver is a STOP-GAP measure to get next cushy job. There are so many existing startups using AI to advise reducing cloud cost!
