Thread regarding UnitedHealth Group Inc. layoffs

May had a huge layoff

UHG laid off 200 people in the Month of May. Currently still looking for work. When you have a ton of experience it seems to be harder to find something to fit in to. Since when should we worry about interviewing again. This has been stressful for so many people.

I was laid off in May...it took until literally 3 weeks ago for me to find a job...it is hard to get other companies to understand you were laid off from UHC when they show so much growth and still have jobs posted. It should be easier but its not. Apply like crazy to other jobs, tailor your resume for each position u apply to. Its work but it helps get interviews. Stay positive and diligent. You will get a door to open!

Companies love UHC employees. We have a solid reputation with other insurance companies. Providers will also hire you as you can navigate the disaster that is UHC's denial/reconsideration/appeals process. these are valuable skills. Word is out on linkedin about the layoffs also, so network there. Try firms that audit UHC on behalf of the government, state and employers also. Your knowledge can be powerful savings for companies like Ernst & Young , Allianz, AON Hewitt, etc. These places pay 25% higher and in some cases you can receive a bonus percentage of what you recovered on behalf of the company. Find 100k in UHC processing errors and get a bonus of 5%? 5 Grand! The company gave you great skills to use to your advantage.
