Office close in Zug and resulting layoffs.
This was always delicate when TRGR split and Refinitiv didn’t need a tax base in Switzerland aka Asset managers on assignments.

What a long Trail we have come down.

Being Sold to the London Stock Exchange or Hong Kong Exchange is like making the Highway Department answerable to the Drivers License Registration Department. They are not coordinated to be a sales and service organization. Quasi Government at best. Hope big David gets the artwork and fast car of his dreams.

The rollout started on September 30. Search for the announcement on Connectiv (new Sharepoint site) by the company's Chief Information Security Officer in the "Using Office 365" section.

Did this policy come in effect today? I was able to take backup on an SD card till Friday. Today I started getting an error about Blocked Content.

The external storage device policy is company-wide and applies to everyone, unless you request a waiver for valid business reasons. The policy forces external storage devices to be read-only, so clearly they care less about your PC getting infected by a virus and more about customer data leakage.

Is blocking of external drives on your laptop a tell tell sign that one is in the list?

Refinitiv is going to become more and more toxic. The takeover of LSEG will put even more jobs at risk. Get out while you can I would say! But hey let’s celebrate their birthday with little cakes and corny pledges!

There are rumors spreading that wrong people from Technology got fired and entire action will be reverted...

Just laid off. Along with 5 other development and QA teams in NYC, probably about 40-50 people total. Being moved to Beijing and Russia. A few key people kept on to train their successors, sure they'll be laid off next year once the dirty work is done.

And yet, the same people in charge, the ones who seriously expect us to pledge to the company, will keep their jobs. Leadership in action.

From Unite union in the UK:

"Yesterday (Wednesday 2 October) union and employee representatives were notified of proposed job reductions for the UK. Similar to the exercise that impacted Customer Operations during Q2 of this year, this latest exercise is limited in scope and scale with an overall proposed reduction of 46 UK based roles. The vast majority are in Customer Operations or Technology with both London and Exeter impacted. About half of the proposals concern uniquely identified roles, but for the remaining roles pool based selections will be carried out to determine which employees will be placed at risk. Therefore the total number of employees initially notified will exceed 46.
Where possible impacted individuals will be notified this week."

I heard the majority of the impacts were announced/communicated to people on Wednesday (Oct 2). Are additional impacts occurring today (Thursday Oct 3) as well?
