Quality Doesn't Matter, It's All About The Money

Another "quality" rebuild/conversion/overhaul by Juniata. The 4094 is just the latest in a trend of terrible work to hit the rails out of Altoona yet they are still doing DC-AC's. This engine was built during overhaul in August or September of 2018 and is already shot. Broken rods, messed up crank. So many blown power assemblies it has to be overhauled again just a year later. Poor crosshead rework and probably too many other shoddy work practices to mention leading to yet another blown engine built at JLS. But hey, let's take the work away from the shop that puts out a better product. They need more time to rebuild the c-ap put out elsewhere. Smh! Great job, NS exec's, y'all deserve a bonus!

I thought all the engine over hauls were done in Roanoke. If they wanted it done right conway is where it would go.

When management closes all the component shops and rebuilds with substandard components from outside vendors what do expect. If we were building airplanes they would be falling out of the sky,ask Jason Eddy.

I know all about the junk that exits Juniata. A lot of it comes to RLS to be fixed. We have had to re-overhaul countless locos due to poor work.
